I continue to have appliance problems, and there isn't a repairman in the world who can help me. My daughter is obsessed with sticking Magtastik pieces on the metal appliances. She thinks it's, "beautiful," and she will argue with me and reprimand me when I find a secret moment to unstick what has been stuck. At this very moment there are three yellow pieces hanging off of the front of my dishwasher.
While it's hardly the latest interior design fashion, It could be worse -- crayon on marker, for example! Plus, I think it's sort of cute. It reminds me of the old alphabet magnets that I played with on my refrigerator as a kid. It also reminds me of how far we've come with kids toys. Magnets, complex building sets, handheld games and electronic versions of classic board games -- not to mention the computer!
The funniest part about this whole thing isn't how silly my oven looks, it's that the other day, while I was intending to clean off the colorful magnets, I ended up sitting on the kitchen floor, playing with the magnets. I was trying to figure out a way to get the metal ball to drop from and through one set of magnetic sticks to another set. I never quite got it right, but that's OK. I feel old most days, so feeling young like this was a wonderful break.
